How are angle gears used in biogas production?
Service. February 20, 2023.
Biogas is a clean, renewable energy source that has become more important in recent years as we try to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and combat climate change.
One of the key components in the production of biogas is the decomposition process.
Biogas is formed when liquid biomass (primarily liquid animal manure) is broken down by bacteria in an oxygen-poor environment. Angle gears are often used in this process to help mix the organic matter so it can break down more efficiently.
Angle gears are capable of operating in harsh environments. Biogas production typically takes place in large, sealed tanks, where temperatures can get quite high, and conditions can be corrosive. Angle gears are therefore made from high quality materials designed to withstand these conditions.
But as with everything else, angle gears also need to be maintained. We are therefore pleased that our service team can help Sønderjysk Biogas Bevtoft A/S to renovate and seal their angle gears so that they can be used for many years to come.
